Delivery company Yodel has announced that its planning to recruit 4,000 people to help deal with the busy period over Christmas.

The roles the company is looking to recruit for include employed and self-employed couriers, day and night parcel sorters and team managers. The roles span Yodel's headquarters in Liverpool and 50 other locations across the country.

Although the recruitment drive is designed to cover the Christmas period, Yodel chief executive Mike Hancox said that many of the roles offered "an opportunity to grow into long-term careers".

"Christmas is always our busiest time of the year," said Mike. "But with 2022 bringing additional World Cup related shopping, we’re anticipating a festive season like never before.

"By joining Yodel, you will become part of a nationwide family and have options to work either full or part-time to suit your lifestyle."

Yodel has just chalked up a profitable financial year involving "significant growth". Parent company Logistics Group Holdings posted improved pre-tax profits and revenue for the 12 months to June 30 2021, compared with the previous year.
