Budget supermarket chain Aldi will create more than 2,000 permanent new roles across the UK this year as part of a nationwide expansion drive.

The new retail jobs will be at stores across the country including almost 400 in Yorkshire, 300 in Lancashire and 100 in both Edinburgh and Cornwall.

This includes 1,000 logistics roles at its 11 Regional Distribution Centres nationwide. This includes full-time and part-time positions with salaries of up to £19.80 per hour as the UK's fifth largest supermarket expands its distribution, transport and maintenance teams.

Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “As we continue to grow and make Aldi accessible to even more shoppers, we need more amazing colleagues across the country to help make that possible. As well as healthcare and lifestyle perks, working at Aldi means a great working environment and real opportunities to progress within the business. We look forward to welcoming even more great people to become a part of our success.”

Earlier this summer, Aldi announced a second pay increase this year for colleagues that work in its stores, maintaining its position as the UK’s best-paying supermarket. From September, retail colleagues at Aldi will earn at least £10.50 per hour nationally, and £11.95 inside the M25, with paid breaks included.
