Professional services firm Deloitte has announced plans to create 500 new technology roles in Belfast over the next three years. The expansion comes in response to rising client demand and the changing needs of UK businesses.
The new roles will form part of a wider investment in four dedicated technology centres across the UK, with Belfast confirmed as the largest. Additional hubs are set to open in Cardiff, Manchester, and Newcastle next month.
As part of its recruitment plans, Deloitte will launch a series of training programmes to support new joiners. These initiatives will target not only graduates from technology backgrounds, but also non-technology graduates, career switchers, and individuals returning to the workforce after a career break.
The firm’s new Belfast office, located in the recently refurbished Ewart building on Bedford Street, will eventually accommodate more than 1,300 employees.
Confidence in Northern Ireland’s Future
Richard Houston, Senior Partner and Chief Executive of Deloitte UK, said: “The firm's investment in Belfast underscores our confidence in the long-term economic prospects of Northern Ireland and our dedication to its continued success.”
Jackie Henry, UK Managing Partner for People and Purpose, described the move as a reflection of the quality of Deloitte’s existing Belfast team and the firm’s wider ambitions.
She said: “We have some amazing talent and technology skills in Belfast, making it an ideal location for one of Deloitte's new flagship technology centres.
“This investment is a testament to the high quality of our teams here and our commitment to actively contributing to Northern Ireland's economy and wider business ecosystem.”
Expanding Tech Capabilities Across the UK
The launch of these technology centres forms part of Deloitte’s broader strategy to strengthen its regional presence and meet the growing demand for digital services. The new roles in Belfast are expected to span a wide range of technology specialisms and provide opportunities for individuals at all stages of their careers.
